Musicians

“I have a special appreciation for the work of the musician, having grown up with two very special musical artists—my Mom and Dad. Watching them choose their clothing for the night—clothes laid out so perfectly on the bed—inspired my career choice. No words can quite capture the feeling I have while watching a musician perform in full sartorial regalia. No matter what the style of music, what the venue, or how big the audience, the style and “the look” of the artist, in visual terms, carries a profound influence with it. Those visual cues tell the audience what to feel and how to understand this musician. When we close our eyes and think back on our most cherished memories of our favorite musician, it is his or her persona—the physical picture of that person—that we remember with longing. “Prince and Dolly expressed/express their strong individualism so profoundly through their personas. They are absolutely inseparable from their style and clothing, and to have been a part of that will forever fuel my passion for design.” --SL
