About Stacia

As a Specialty Costumer in Hollywood, Stacia Lang has created a universe of costumes including Super Hero (Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor: Ragnarock, The Amazing Spider-Man movies, X-Men United, Fantastic Four, DC’s Aquaman, Man of Steel, Superman Returns), Space Suits (Interstellar, Passengers, First Man), and Sci-Fi and Fantasy attire (Star Trek Into Darkness, Tron: Legacy, Star Trek Nemesis, The Cell).

Stacia is an Emmy Nominee for her ACD work on the Disney+ Series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Stacia’s costume and clothing designs for musical genius Prince defined his style during the Diamonds and Pearls and Love Symbol eras. Her signature looks include the Gangster Glam wide lapel jumpsuits and two- and three-piece suits; sumptuous ensembles of swirling French laces and elaborate cutwork embroidery; luxurious silk pajamas and sleeveless, turtleneck knit jumpsuits. Most famous (and notorious) of all is the Butt-Out suit from the 1991 MTV Music Video Awards. Stacia has designed for other musicians of note, including Dolly Parton.

Early years in dance and theatre were vital to a career destined to fulfill the needs of Superheroes and dynamic Rock Stars. After graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology, the opportunity came to learn old-world costume cutting in the fabled workroom of the New York City Ballet. From there, Stacia moved on to Broadway stage productions such as Into the Woods, Legs Diamond, La Cage Aux Folles, and Cats. She also continued her work in the world of Ballet, creating costumes for the American Ballet Theatre and The Joffrey Ballet, through the legendary costume workrooms of Barbara Matera Ltd., and Parsons-Meares, Ltd., respectively.

Aside from her film work, Stacia manages Stacia Lang Feather Studio, where she creates custom feather attire such as capes, jackets, and headdresses in addition to sculpting textile avian delights. Visit stacialangfeatherstudio.com.
